Make the Block

1. Sew together pieces A, B, and C as shown.

2. Sew piece D to the top of unit ABC.

3. Sew piece E to the left side of the block.

Fabric Requirements and Cutting

NOTE

All the pieces in this block are cut using templates from Pattern 33. The dimensions listed in the chart under “Size to Cut” represent the amount of fabric required for each piece. More fabric may be required for shortcut piecing or fussy cutting.

To make a template from a pattern, refer to Making and Using Freezer-Paper Templates. When cutting your fabric, remember to add seam allowances and mark points for matching seams.

Make the Block

1. Sew a piece B1 to the left side of a piece A, and a piece B2 to the right side, to make a rectangle 2½˝ × 5½˝.

2. Repeat Step 1 to make a total of 7 units AB. figure a
